Newborn Photoshoot
When is the best time for newborn photos?
The best time to do the photoshoot is within 2 weeks after their birth date. In order to ensure a smooth session, this is the prime time to capture those moments as babies are at their sleepiest . If you can’t make it within the 2 week mark we can still capture beautiful newborn shots up to 10 weeks.
When should I book a newborn session?
After your 20 week scan is an ideal time. Here we can look at your due date and put a rough estimate in. Once baby is born contact me maximum 2-3 days after the birth to lock in your slot. The session will take place in my studio in Ballybrack Moville within 14 days after baby arrives.
How long will the session last?
I will keep aside 2-3 hours and the length of the session will depend on how settled baby is
How do I prepare baby for the session?
We all know babies don’t come with a manual and have their own schedule. I suggest feeding baby right before the session as they’ll be full and sleepy. I usually aim to start sessions at 10am
What should we wear?
My style of photography is very minimal, white, neutral, earthy tones so in order to get the most out of these photos I suggest whites/creams/tan/browns for both parents. I understand as a mum, those early days of needing to feel comfortable so I suggest anything loose fitting. I will have a number of clothes/props for baby so no need to worry here. I’ve got you covered!
What if my baby is more than 2 weeks old?
Don’t panic, while we may not get baby to be as sleepy, we can still capture really beautiful family photos.
Can siblings be included?
Absolutely! I suggest taking sibling photos at the start of the shoot. I they could also come dressed in neutral/browns/tan/white colors that would be fantastic.
Maternity Photoshoot
When is the best time for a maternity photoshoot?
Anytime between 30-37 weeks is best as the bump is visible. If you’re expecting multiples like I did, i suggest anytime between 28-30 weeks
What should I wear?
In order to enhance the images I aim to provide, please wear anything neutral, flowy, loose dress, jumpers etc . I’ve a collection of maternity shoot clothes in the studio wardrobe that you can use either. We can plan this ahead of the session
How long will the session last?
Approx. 1 hour
How long after the session will I receive my images?
Your images will be delivered to you in a private online viewing gallery approx 2 weeks after the shoot. Here you’ll select your chosen images.
Cake Smash
When will the cakesmash take place?
What better way to celebrate your childs 1st birthday, then capturing them with their first birthday cake (all the mess included!!) We aim to do this shoot 3-4 weeks before their 1st birthday.
What will be expected in the cakesmash session?
Lots of fun and mess! Before the madness begins, we’ll take some lovely portraits first, followed by the cake smash chaos ending with a bubbles and slashes in the tub
How long do sessions last?
Approx 1-2 hours
Do you provide a cake for smashing?
Yes we’ll provide a delicious cake and even better again you can take it home and indulge in whatever is left with the rest of the family
What if my child has any food allergies?
To ensure the utmost safety of your child, I ask that the parent supplies the cake. This doesn’t have to be anything elaborate, just a simple sponge with no need for any toppings/food colourings etc
What will my child wear?
I’ve a selection of white, neutral outfits which will create that timeless look that I always look to capture so that you have pictures that will continue to stand the test of time.
Can siblings come along
As this session is focused solely on your child and celebrating their 1st birthday, I suggest only the child comes to the shoot. As we know 1 year olds can lose focus easily we want to ensure as least distractions as possible in order to get those memorable moments.
When will we see our images
You can view your images in a watermarked online viewing gallery roughly 2-3 weeks after the session. Here you’ll see 30 beautifully edited photos for you to select from.
